Trauma-Informed Care

Across every program and age group, our care is grounded in trauma-informed practices that prioritize safety, trust, and healing:

  • Predictable routines and consistency

  • Emotional and physical safety

  • Positive guidance and redirection

  • Understanding behavior as communication

  • Calm, supportive adult relationships

  • Respect for each child’s pace and boundaries

  • Age-appropriate coping and calming strategies

We recognize that many children carry experiences that are unseen. Trauma-informed care allows children to feel safe enough to learn, grow, and heal, creating a foundation for resilience, stability, and lifelong success.

Emotional Resilience

Across every program and age group, we intentionally teach skills that support long-term stability and success:

  • Emotional regulation

  • Communication and expression

  • Self-awareness

  • Conflict resolution

  • Stress management

  • Coping strategies

  • Confidence and belonging

We believe children do not just need supervision they need support, encouragement, and a pathway toward healing and stability. By building emotional resilience early, we help interrupt cycles of trauma and homelessness and replace them with confidence, connection, and opportunity.

       Safety & Wellness

Across every program and age group, we prioritize the physical, emotional, and environmental safety of every child in our care:

  • Secure and supervised environments

  • Health-conscious routines and hygiene practices

  • Nutritious meals and snacks

  • Age-appropriate movement and outdoor play

  • Calm spaces for rest and regulation

  • Clear safety procedures and emergency preparedness

  • Staff trained in child safety and first aid

A safe and healthy environment allows children to focus on learning, connection, and growth building trust and confidence every day.

Family Stability & Partnership

We believe supporting children means supporting families. Our approach centers on partnership, dignity, and respect for parents and caregivers working toward stability. Across every program and age group, we work alongside families through:

  • Respectful and inclusive family partnerships

  • Consistent communication with caregivers

  • Support for parents pursuing employment or education

  • Connections to community resources

  • Encouragement without judgment

  • Accountability rooted in compassion

  • A shared commitment to each child’s well-being

When families are supported, children thrive.

         Pathway to Stability

Little Wings Daycare is committed to helping families move toward long-term self-sufficiency. Our program is designed to remove childcare barriers while empowering parents to build stable futures.

To participate in our program, parents or guardians are expected to be:

  • Actively employed or

  • Enrolled in school, job training, or workforce development

Families provide verification of employment or enrollment and work alongside our team through case management and supportive services.

Families who are not yet employed or enrolled are not automatically excluded. We partner with parents to create individualized plans toward employment, education, or training. Our goal is to support families as they move toward independence and reduced reliance on crisis systems, while increasing stability, confidence, and long-term success.
